Early Bird Registration for the 3rd annual Bicycle Across South Carolina opens this Friday at 12 PM EST! Thinking about joining the adventure? Here are our top 5 reasons to sign up for BASC!
1. A Unique Multi-day Gravel Ride
The ride (not race) is a multi-day gravel ride that highlights the beauty and vast landscapes of South Carolina. With 80% gravel and 20% pavement, the routes offer a challenging yet accessible adventure for all. Each day riders begin and end at our BASC Basecamp, a centralized point that will serve as our home base throughout the weekend. No packing up camp each night, shuttles, or wondering where you’re crashing for the night! All activities, meals, entertainment, etc. will take place at the BASC Basecamp. After the ride, return to your already set up campsite, relax, and get ready for the next day of riding.
A short route and long route will be available each day. The exact routes and venues will be announced on May 14.
2. Get Off The Grid and Explore
At the center of it all, is the adventure. Riders young and old are drawn to this ride to experience the unique routes, rustic campsites, and off-the-grid lifestyle. Each day riders will experience new trails with quintessential South Carolina landscapes and challenging distances that push riders to conquer each day. Afterward, reward yourself with a cold beer and a hot meal while you recap the day with a group of like-minded enthusiasts.
No matter what we encounter, it’s all a part of the adventure so expect the unexpected and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime!
3. Join a Tight-Knit Community
Each year, new and returning riders conquer the ride and bond over a beer after the excitement and adrenaline rush dies down after the ride. This tight-knit community is like no other and welcomes riders of all experience levels. Since this is a ride, not a race, the competitive nature of a road race isn’t evident. Riders are encouraged to take in the views and experience the outdoors from a whole new perspective.
Never rode in an organized ride before? We welcome cyclists of any experience level as long as they can handle the mileage and support themselves along the route.

We provide a turn-key experience for our riders by cultivating an unforgettable adventure complete with various routes, local food and beverages, live music, and more – all included with the registration price.
